Craig and I both have flexible jobs that allow us to take time off (with in reason). However, that only solves one half of the problem. In order to travel more often, we try book in advance when specials and sales come up to save on airfare and hotels.
I've actually created an in-depth Edmonton City Guide for that! I try update it as much as possible with all of our recommendations and suggestions so that it feels more like a local guide. You can find all other city guides here. Don't miss out on the Calgary City Guide, too!
I make money two ways: sponsored content and affiliates. I’m lucky to have the opportunity to work with some amazing brands and if I’m ever being paid for a post, it will be disclosed that it’s “sponsored”. You can read more about it here.
We love to work with brands / businesses one-on-one to create inspiring, entertaining and useful content that's also unique to the social media world. You can access our online media kit here and send us a note about your ideas here (or directly at theglobediary@gmail.com).
We try book in advance when specials and sales come up. We also have a few favourite websites listed here that save us some money. If it's a last minute trip, we will try snag some last minute deals.
For travel, I use my Canon 5D Mark IV with a Sigma 35mm Lens, but before that I used a Canon Rebel T6 which is a really great beginner camera. You can read this post that talks all about my recommendations and the best gear you can find.
You can read about our immigration story here, but the short answer is that we moved because Craig got a work opportunity in Canada. Why Alberta? Because it was easier for Craig to get a job offer in that province at the time.
We're busy updating our page, but it will be live soon. You can find some of our favourite things to shop right here. We also post things we're shopping for in our Sunday Diaries, so keep a look out for those.
You can find our travel schedule here or on Instagram. If you have any recommendations or suggestions about our next destinations, we would love to hear from you! If you're a brand or business interested in collaborating on an upcoming visit, you can send us a note here.
If it's not me or Craig (or whoever else is available), it's my extremely talented branding photographer, Tracey (who doubles as a bestie). If you would like to view her work, maybe hire her or purchase her Mobile Lightroom presets, you can do so here.
If they are Iphone photos, I usually start with Tracey's presets, because they can brighten up any dull photos. If they are camera photos, I'll import them to Lightroom and edit them there first. After that, I'll tweak photos in VSCO using filters like: A6, G1, KP8, and AL1.
I've written about my experience converting my law degree in Canada with the NCA here. At the time it felt like my career was getting 'back on track', but I've found I enjoy helping others on a more personal level with immigration. You can read more about that here.
Unfortunately, we do not accept any guest posts or guest content of any sort on the blog, as we prefer to have all content written by our contributors, in a particular style. If you would like to partner with us you can do so here, or if you would like to send us a tip, you can send us a note here.
