The Camera For Beginners Travel & Blog Photography

Aug 28, 2018

Craig got me the best birthday gift ever last year! AND it’s pretty much the reason you are even reading this blog, because had I not got this camera for that birthday, I don’t know whether I would have felt confident enough in putting out photos on social media or even on this blog. This beginner blog camera is ideally priced for just starting out but it’s also really easy to use for those a tad nervous about jumping head first into photography. There are so many reasons why I love this entry level DSLR camera, so I’ll break it down for you below:

Reasonably Priced:

When you’re just starting out, whether it be blogging, photography or just taking photos of your family, your budget usually wont afford one of the top of the line DSLRs like the Canon 1D that can go for 6k! This entry level beginner camera is reasonably priced retailing around $ 700.

There’s an automatic mode:

When you’re a beginner and you haven’t yet grasped ISO, aperture and shutter speed, the auto mode really helps you ensure that your photos come out the best quality. It basically does all the work for you in the beginning while your figuring out your style, angles and level of interest in photography. Capturing moments are a breeze in this mode and to be honest… it’s my go-to when I’m nervous about lighting.

It is wifi-enabled:

The wireless connectivity provides a seamless way to exchange images with my phone on the go. That means I can share them faster, no matter the location. And I have one less cable to carry around with me when I am travelling. I downloaded the free app on my phone and connect to the wifi with ease! It also allows me to move photos from my camera to my phone quickly so I have them ready to go on my phone for social media.

There is an Upgrade:

Technically, the T6i is not the latest, as the T7i has been released. So if you’re a ‘I-need-the-latest-tech-type”, then grab that one. Here’s a list of the differences between the two.

A Step Up From Beginner:

If you can afford it, and you’re interested in investing in a camera one up from a beginner Canon DSLR, then the Canon 80D is your best bet and one that I have my eye on! It gives you weather sealing to protect against dust and rain, plus longer battery life, faster bursts, and a quicker top shutter speed for capturing action.
